Honkai: Star Rail - Version 3.7 Currency Wars Basic Equipment Tier List

With the arrival of the new version, Trailblazers have been greeted with brand-new game content—Currency Wars. As a new gameplay mode full of randomness, while team composition and operational strategy are crucial, the strength of the equipment system is often the "invisible hand" that determines victory or defeat. Faced with a dazzling array of basic equipment, how can choices be made to leverage the highest returns? This article will organize a basic weapon tier list for you based on three dimensions: strength, versatility, and suitability to scenarios, assisting you in accurately anchoring the core equipment amidst the chaotic battlefield!

Tier 1: Universal Equipment—"Grab it if you have it."

1. Roller Skates: "Speed is king."

Versatility: Adapts everywhere.

HSR Currency Wars

Core logic: In Currency Wars, where the right to act determines the right to survive, the speed increase provided by Roller Skates can directly break the balance of turn-based gameplay. Whether it's the Belobog team's Engine of Creation gaining control first or the Debuff team's efficiency in stacking layers, the speed attribute is always the hard currency. More crucially, it doesn't need to be bound to a specific faction; it can be equipped without hesitation if obtained early and can even achieve a qualitative change by stacking two pairs (refer to the classic case of the Aglaea team composition).

2. Photon Cell: "The engine for ultimate skill cycling"

Versatility: Ultimate-initiation, energy-focused teams.

Honkai: Star Rail Currency Wars

Evaluation: It is the lifeline for ultimate-focused teams (e.g., Seele, Bronya). The extra energy provided by the Photon Cell not only shortens the cooldown of key skills but can also form a "perpetual motion" combo with energy-charging characters. It is important to note that its value highly depends on the team composition—its benefit drops sharply if the team relies mainly on basic attacks, but if paired with characters having high energy demands like Acheron or Kafka, it directly ascends to T0-level strategic equipment.

3. Red Gem/Blue Gem: The "Master Key" for Emblem synthesis.

Versatility: Universal, for completing bonds.

HSR Currency Wars

Evaluation: The Red Gem (Faction Emblem) and Blue Gem (School Emblem) solve the problem of "bond congestion." Especially when playing bond-reliant compositions that depend on high unit counts to come online, such as Belobog or Debuff teams, stockpiling Gems in advance allows for quickly assembling key bonds (such as 6-Belobog or 8-Debuff) in the mid- to late game. Due to the inherent scarcity of the Emblem Synthesizer itself, the priority of the dual Gems can even be higher than some offensive weapons, making them the "invisible puzzle piece" for securing victory on A8 difficulty

Tier 2: Specialized Tools - Right Remedy for the Right Situation

1. Folding Knife & Peace Pistol: Frontstage/Backstage Damage Increase

Positioning: Exclusive plugin for core DPS.

Evaluation: The Folding Knife's frontstage damage increase suits main DPS on-field compositions (e.g., Seele, Jing Yuan), while the Peace Pistol's backstage damage increase is a divine tool for backline DPS (e.g., Anaxa, Saber). However, note that both require an established core DPS in the team composition—if the main DPS is not yet developed, the benefits are limited.

2. Lucky Star: Another Crit Damage Multiplier

Positioning: Main DPS Crit Multiplier

Honkai: Star Rail Currency Wars

Evaluation: With a new Crit Damage multiplier added in Currency Wars, the gains from Lucky Crit and the gains from traditional Crit multiply exponentially. Therefore, whether equipping it on a support to increase the main DPS's Lucky Crit rate or having the main DPS wear it themselves, the returns are quite considerable. However, at A8 difficulty, such an improvement is almost useless—Lucky Crit ultimately cannot provide an attack speed boost like the Skates and the Battery, nor does it offer the mechanism improvement of increasing bond count like the Red and Blue Gems.

3. Batch Produced Armor: A steadfast bulwark

Honkai: Star Rail Currency Wars

Evaluation: A solid choice in high-pressure environments. When facing high-burst enemies in the A8 stage, its damage reduction can effectively prevent a health bar collapse, buying time for your damage dealers. Particularly, the popularity of the triple Chassis of Retribution Phainon build has significantly increased the value of this damage immunity armor. However, for other team compositions, its effectiveness is limited, whether used directly or synthesized into higher-tier weapons.

Tier 3: Functionally Specialized - The "Firefighters" for Specific Compositions

1. Aether Drill: Weakness Break Specialized Weapon

Evaluation: Equipment supplied specifically for the Break system

In Currency Wars, apart from Break teams, we can almost say the Toughness bar doesn't have much effect — in favorable matches, the health bar drops faster than the Toughness bar, and in unfavorable matches for non-European players, whether Weakness Break occurs or not is already meaningless. Returning to the Break system, aside from Firefly, who can barely fight through relying on high-frequency ultimates, the strength of other Break teams cannot be called "the strong stay strong"; at the very least, they are mediocre among the crowd.

2. Flower of Life: Bloodflame damage multiplier increase.

Evaluation: Specialized equipment for the Bloodflame system

For other team compositions, while the increased HP can alleviate the pressure of sudden death in the early stages, the monster damage in Currency Wars is fast, painful, and includes mechanism-based HP loss. In the late game, simply stacking HP is insufficient to counter AoE attacks like those from the Lance of Fury. It can only be considered icing on the cake—teams that couldn't win without it still can't win with it, and teams that could win without it will still win with it.

Conclusion

Weapons are puzzle pieces, not saviors. The ultimate charm of Currency Wars lies in the delicate balance between luck and strategy. A top-tier weapon set cannot save an absolutely terrible draw, but it can give you a stable advantage in an evenly matched game. Remember: Roller Skates and the Photon Cell are the "universal passes" to A8, while the Red and Blue Diamonds are the cornerstone for stacking the perfect composition.
