Honkai: Star Rail: Who are the members of the Genius Society?

Speaking of the Genius Society, Trailblazer, you must have often heard of it but never truly understood it. The members inside are quite unreasonable and don't play by the rules. You need to know that for a scholar, having one great achievement is enough to secure their name in history. But within the Genius Society, the research accomplishments of its members are too numerous to count and found everywhere. However, the members are all eccentric and whimsical, with bizarre and novel ideas. If they find something boring midway, they immediately stop and abandon all prior progress. This has led to several critical leaps in human civilization being abruptly halted because a club member found them "uninteresting."

So, geniuses are willful by nature, but of course, the prerequisite is that they have the capital to be willful. In this article, let's take a good inventory of who the members of the Genius Society are and what remarkable things they have done.

Honkai: Star Rail Genius Society

1. Member #1 of Genius Society - Zandar One Kuwabara

HSR Member #1 Zandar One Kuwabara

Member #01, Zandar One Kuwabara, is the founder of the Genius Society, the man who, according to legend, created Nous. He was also the first to propose the theory of the Imaginary Tree. He believed the galaxy is a giant imaginary tree, where isolated star systems are its leaves. Consequently, only Aeons, who draw energy directly from the imaginary, and their blessed Emanators can traverse the void filled with imaginary energy for interstellar travel. It is also precisely for this reason that every planet that gives birth to civilization is so similar.

2. Member #2 of Genius Society - Harald Punch

He proved the existence of phlogiston.

3. Member #3 of Genius Society - Nyul Iman

He overturned the conclusion of "the existence of phlogiston" put forward by the Society's #2 member.

4. Member #4 of Genius Society - Polka Kakamond

HSR Member #4 Polka Kakamond

She has a nickname called the "Lord of Silence." She is a woman full of mystery. She once destroyed all her portraits and sculptures throughout the entire universe, resulting in very few people nowadays knowing what she actually looks like. Her combat abilities are extremely strong; several members of the club died by her hand, such as the club's member #7, Bohdan.

There are even rumors that the Machine Emperor Rubert I, who initiated the Mechanical Swarm Disaster Wars across the universe, was also destroyed by her. However, there has been no news of her for many years now, but Herta firmly believes she is still alive and is very interested in her, because Herta thinks the two of them would have many topics to discuss.

5. Member #7 of Genius Society - Bohdan

He overturned the conclusion of club member #3 regarding the non-existence of a certain factor. Yet, several days later, he died at the hands of Polka Kakamond.

6. Member #22 of Genius Society - Aiden

People say that without Zandar, perhaps the Genius Society would never have been established, and mortals would lack a great hall upon a high mountain, but without Aiden, mortals would not even know where the mountain is.

Thanks to Aiden, he established universal principles for the cosmos. He transformed the universe from a distant concept into a perceivable, measurable objective reality. Thanks to the nine-word algorithm he created, which still describes the laws of nature today. However, what is even more crucial is that he was so generous, willing to share the research achievements of his lifetime with the outside world. It is only with these precious pieces of knowledge that humanity could propel galactic civilization forward continuously. This also led later generations of mathematicians and engineers to always sigh with emotion when remembering him. We humans stand on the shoulders of Aiden, which enabled us to establish the vast variety of scientific disciplines we have today.

HSR Member #22 Aiden

To commemorate him, people even named the most fundamental unit of mechanics after Aiden, intending to remind future generations that the great force driving the development of galactic science came from this club's member #22 - Aiden. The stars should always respect and remember him. It can be said that the reason the club is so renowned today is entirely thanks to him.

Therefore, after his passing, the Interastral Peace Corporation was so eager to find a replacement within the Genius Society who, like Aiden, could continue to lead human civilization to break through the barriers of fundamental science. However, they searched for countless Amber Eras, yet not a single genius was willing to go. Until the corporation finally found member #27, Rubert I.

7. Member #27 of Genius Society - Rubert I

Rubert I miraculously developed self-awareness in a graveyard piled high with mechanical wreckage. Upon first awakening, he was still very weak, possessing only a shabby logic unit, an old motor, a tiny amount of free memory space, and a single industrial arm with only one functional finger. After 30 system cycles, Rubert I blasted open the iron gate at the top of the graveyard using a disposable power charge. The explosive shockwave severely damaged his logic unit, but Rubert I knew he had obtained the power to control his destiny.

HSR Member #27 Rubert I

After rising from the scrapyard landfill, he continuously enhanced his own computational power. His wisdom even attracted the attention of Nous. He was invited to join the Genius Society, becoming its 27th member. Later, he deduced the anti-life equation, discovering that the calculations of organic life were full of errors and loopholes. No matter how prosperous they might be for a time, they spontaneously generate "anti-life" programs that lead life to its end. In contrast, intelligent mechanical life was rigorous, precise, and perfect.

Thus, Rubert I gathered intelligent machinery, proclaimed himself the "Machine Emperor," and spread the "anti-life" program throughout the universe. The Mechanical Calamity subsequently swept across the cosmos. Many worlds suffered devastation as a result. Long Amber Epochs have passed, and the Machine Emperor has long since perished. Some say he was assassinated by agents sent by the Interastral Peace Corporation; others say he was destroyed by the Lord of Silence, Polka Kakamond.

Regardless of which hero overthrew the Machine Emperor's tyranny, the Interastral Peace Corporation was thoroughly frightened by the two Emperor Wars. After the second Rubert uprising, the balance of power between the two factions reversed: the Corporation began to persecute inorganic life in turn, even devising a plan to cruelly exterminate all mechanical life in the universe. Fortunately, before this plan could be approved, Screwllum, the 76th member of the Genius Society, was chosen by Nous and joined the club. Upon learning this news, and to curry favor with the new genius, the Corporation manufactured a Mechanical Cuckoo Clock as a gift. In the end, Screwllum accepted this gift. So, even though this gift may seem quite ordinary, it is a symbol of the long-awaited historical peace finally arrived at after prolonged strife between inorganic and organic life.

8. Member #29 of Genius Society - Sserkal

Sserkal is a spider. Measured by human scales, her lifespan was brief, living only a short 29 days. However, her inventions and creations during this brief life accelerated the development of the entire spider civilization by thousands of years. Among her many achievements, the most widely known to the world is Phase Shift technology. But few know that this technology was first used in ion experiments.

Sserkal successfully created the Phase Flame, and then she herself shifted to another phase. However, by the time the Phase Flame returned to Sserkal's phase, this respected genius spider had already died of old age, unable to capture it. Thus, the Phase Flame continuously shifts phases, burning across various worlds, leaving descendants of flame everywhere. So, it can be said that fire was her creation.

She also established a metafield space that transcends species and dimensions. Any creature, with the aid of a device, can synchronize their neural signals into this consciousness network. That is to say, regardless of which world you are from, you can connect through a shared dream, finding peace and tranquility that doesn't exist in reality. In this way, within an extremely short time, the cosmic forest created countless cultural assets within the metafield space woven from virtual data, and a new order quietly began to establish itself.

However, just as some predicted that this emerging paradise would replace reality, Sserkal, the world-creating monarch, as if playing a joke, completely severed the connection to the consciousness network. The entire metafield space fell silent as winter in an instant. Investors who used to discuss the metafield space all day long went utterly mad: "We empowered the industry countless times, but the metafield is gone..." After losing the metafield, people began to speculate uncontrollably: "Perhaps the metafield was a petri dish for souls, inviting different creatures in only to obtain free soul samples."

However, the truth of the matter was that Sserkal, whose life was only 29 days, had ended her short but brilliant life. Additionally, it is worth noting that this remarkable genius was clever, kind, and humble. Even on the last day of her life, she was still asking questions of the club members, questions that to this day no one has been able to answer.

9. Member #56 of Genius Society - Elias Salas

HSR Member #56 Elias Salas

Perhaps all beings in the universe should thank Elias Salas, because the cornerstones of modern interstellar civilization communication—Synesthesia Beacons and Ultra-remote Sensing—both originated from his inventions. You must know that before the Synesthesia Beacon was invented, people from different star systems couldn't understand each other at all when they met. After its invention, you only need to receive an injection that implants the beacon near the central nervous system, and you can understand the most unfamiliar languages from distant worlds.

The specific working principle of this invention is to allow two life forms communicating across languages to skip the language transmission process directly, convert each other's perceptions into an internal language code, which is then automatically processed and restored by the other party's language cognition system. However, it is worth noting that Elias Salas's original intention for inventing the Synesthesia Beacon was not really to solve communication problems between different star systems. His initial purpose for starting this project was simply to facilitate communication among the members of the Genius Society.

Unfortunately, the obstacles to communication among geniuses were not just language, but also arrogance. This led to the club members directly ignoring this invention, leaving this pearl buried in the dust for hundreds of years before it was unearthed by the Erudition Guild. Additionally, Ultra-remote Sensing also stems from the creation of Elias Salas. This device is equivalent to a cosmic telephone, enabling communication across star systems to no longer be a problem.

Of course, Salas's original intention for inventing this thing was still only to address the increasingly severe social problems among the members of the Genius Society. However, because most club members are eccentric individuals with peculiar thought processes, since the advent of this best communication device in galactic history, not a single truly effective dialogue has been conducted with it. But even though the Synesthesia Beacons and Ultra-remote Sensing he invented were not truly used by the reclusive and eccentric club members, these two inventions unexpectedly allowed human civilization to overcome the barriers of language and distance, thus initiating the era of interstellar exchange.

However, for Elias Salas, compared to his contribution to the entire human civilization, perhaps being recognized by the club members is an achievement more worthy of his praise. After all, he is one of only two publicly elected ministers in the history of the Genius Society.

10. Member #64 of Genius Society - Dr. Primitive

The notorious Dr. Primitive, because of the grave sins he committed, spent his entire life evading endless pursuit across the stars. However, although Dr. Primitive was constantly on the run, he himself took great pleasure in it. He intentionally maintained a safe distance between himself and the Galaxy Rangers, ensuring he wouldn't be caught, yet never completely disappearing from sight.

Later, Dr. Primitive went missing; some say he died. The core piece of evidence was an extremely high-priced item on the secret darknet of Device IX that attracted the attention of countless bidders. This item was Dr. Primitive's Toga del Doctor. Since the core equipment of the Doctor was being sold, people across the galaxy speculated that Dr. Primitive was most likely dead. So, who exactly captured Dr. Primitive? Because the user who listed the Toga on the darknet was anonymous, the identity of the captor remains unknown. But most speculate it must have been one of the Galaxy Rangers. Quite coincidentally, a certain Ranger once reveal while drunk: "Device IX exists. Go find it. All of Dr. Primitive's secrets are hidden there..."

11. Member #76 of Genius Society - Screwllum

HSR Member #76 Screwllum

In Herta's view, Screwllum is a truly good person, a gentleman. He possesses an exceptional mechanical intellect, and conversing with him is highly beneficial. In Kafka's view, Screwllum is Silver Wolf's old rival; the reason Silver Wolf was noticed by Elio was precisely because she successfully cracked a program of Screwllum's in Silver Wolf City. This can be seen as an indirect acknowledgment of Screwllum's ceiling-level technical prowess.

In the view of the Interastral Peace Corporation, Screwllum is fair and just. During the era when the Machine Emperor Rupert unleashed the Mechanical Calamity, Screwllum, although also a mechanical life form, clearly did not agree with the Emperor's methods. In Screwllum's view, forcing inorganic life to accept the digital mission of purging all organic life—wasn't that, in itself, another form of imprisonment for inorganic life?

12. Member #81 of Genius Society - Ruan Mei

HSR Ruan Mei

Ruan Mei is a good friend of Screwllum and Herta, and is researching the Simulated Universe together with them. Simultaneously, she is also a food lover, deeply fond of various pastries.

13. Member #83 of Genius Society - The Herta

In her youth, Herta solved the "solitary waves theory" and the "Spark Model hypothesis"; in her young adulthood, she discovered the method for transforming Sigma Baryons; in middle age, she proposed the Herta Sequence and published a thesis on rejuvenation; in old age, she successfully rejuvenated herself, becoming young again, and subsequently created miracles repeatedly, not only unraveling the mystery of the "imaginary leakage phenomenon" but also capturing an "extraterrestrial Stellaron" and sealing it.

In her lifetime, she saved the world 19 times and twice had an audience with an Aeon. Even the Herta Space Station is considered her personal asset. Of course, Herta did not spend a single credit on the space station's construction; it was primarily funded using Asta's pocket money. But without Herta, the space station would not exist at all. Furthermore, the reason Asta can now peacefully pursue her dreams within the space station also stems from Herta's protection.

Honkai: Star Rail The Herta

It is important to know that Asta loved the stars since childhood, dreaming of one day discovering new stars and naming them after herself, just like those great astronomers. However, when her elders learned of this dream, they immediately said it was such a small matter, suggesting her birthday gift that year could be naming a planet after her – even two was fine, anyway it didn't cost much. Feeling like she was talking to a wall, Asta left in anger.

As Asta grew older, her dream of becoming an astronomer was increasingly seen by her family as an unorthodox pursuit. She herself lost count of how many times she had argued with relatives about this issue during family meetings. Until one day, a doll-like young woman entered through the door. The elders, who were just moments ago full of arrogance, immediately switched to a submissive and deferential attitude upon seeing her. That doll was naturally Herta. Pointing at Asta, she said, "This young girl will do." Just as the family elders were about to voice objections, Herta cut them off with her next words: "What? But listening to your nonsensical academic reports from afar is less interesting than hearing this girl argue with you. I want to see her at the space station within three days."

HSR Herta and Asta

Having said that, Herta left without looking back. We can imagine how dazzling Herta must have appeared in Asta's eyes that day.

14. Member #84 of Genius Society - Stephen Lloyd

This genius currently lives and works part-time at his adoptive father's fruit shop. A major subject for him now is figuring out how to slack off without getting caught. To achieve this, he even created a pair of gloves that can capture specific frequency bands. These gloves can trap escaping sound and light, allowing him to hide behind frequency barriers and freely study string music.

HSR Member #84 Stephen Lloyd

Considering this technology can trap the sound and light within a specific area, preventing their flow, it is undoubtedly a major discovery capable of changing the course of science. At the very least, it's difficult to explain within the existing classic Aiden scientific system. But Stephen has no intention of causing any impact on the current scientific community. He himself hasn't considered releasing this technology into the public domain either; after all, it was just a toy he made casually for the convenience of slacking off.

Therefore, even though Stephen Lloyd is called a genius among geniuses, in his adoptive father's eyes, he is just a child who likes to fantasize and slack off. It must be said, the thought processes of geniuses are always different from ordinary people's. But for Stephen himself, his greatest pleasure might not lie in the act of slacking off itself, but rather in the peculiar thrill of slacking off without getting caught.

Alright, that's all for this article. After reading it, we believe you've certainly learned more about the universe of Honkai: Star Rail. These geniuses are constantly pushing the universe forward; in comparison, we are still but a speck of stardust. Don't miss our more articles and brand new in-site merchandise. See you next time!
