With the successive version updates of Honkai: Star Rail, the importance of relic stats has gradually changed compared to the launch period. Among them, the significance of Speed and Energy Regeneration Efficiency in current combat must be emphasized. Today, let's take a look at how the relic stats currently rank in Honkai: Star Rail.

1. BEST: Speed

In Honkai: Star Rail, after significant numerical power creep, damage multipliers like DMG Bonus and CRIT stats (CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG) are already largely maxed out. Having a few more or fewer relevant substats doesn't make much difference. However, Speed remains an extremely precious attribute, as it determines the Action Value required for each character's action, and Action Value is part of the game's foundational combat logic.

For players wanting to meticulously plan their team's action sequence to optimize performance, Speed is also the most crucial factor. Without a doubt, it ranks as the BEST (stat)!

2. BEST: Energy Regeneration Rate

Energy Regeneration Rate is generally used by support characters. It allows them to gain Energy and use their Ultimate faster. This not only helps the team directly but also synergizes with the "Dance, Dance, Dance" Light Cone to advance the action of the entire team.

Furthermore, Energy Regeneration Rate has the lowest drop rate as a main stat, at only 5%, yet it can still be ranked as the BEST (stat)!

3. GREAT: CRIT DMG & CRIT Rate

I believe all Trailblazers know that direct damage carries (DPS) will always stack CRIT stats (CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG). In the past, CRIT stats could be called the strongest and most essential substats. However, current DPS characters inherently possess high CRIT stats, and support characters generally also provide CRIT buffs. 

This results in popular DPS characters, like Castorice and Phainon, having no shortage of CRIT stats at all. Consequently, CRIT stats can now only be rated as GREAT tier.

4. GREAT: Element DMG Boost

The Elemental DMG Boost stat works on the same principle as CRIT stats—it provides damage amplification for your main DPS. Although the DMG Bonus multiplier is easily diluted, having Elemental DMG Boost is still better than having none. It ranks as a GREAT stat.

5. GREAT: HP% and ATK%

HP% and ATK% are also commonly referred to as "Big HP" and "Big ATK". They increase the overall damage of characters whose damage scales with HP or ATK multipliers and are considered GREAT stats.

6. GOOD: Outgoing Healing Boost

Stats used by healer characters, although they generally do not directly affect the team's damage output (except in team compositions with Castorice), provide higher healing and reliable sustain, which is part of the gaming experience and considered GOOD.

7. GOOD: Break Effect & Effect Hit Rate

For characters focused on Break, Break Effect is a top-tier stat; for Nihility characters, Effect Hit Rate is a top-tier stat. However, for characters who don't need them, these stats are practically useless. Considering that Break teams and Nihility teams are not particularly dominant in the current meta, overall, these stats are rated as GOOD.

8. NORMAL: Effect RES

It's not entirely accurate to say that Effect RES is completely useless. Resisting an enemy's control effect at a critical moment can feel quite good. 

However, survival characters nowadays possess strong debuff-clearing capabilities, so most of the time you won't find yourself desperately needing Effect RES, nor will you hope for it to appear on your relic substats. It ranks at the bottom tier.

9. NORMAL: DEF%

In Honkai: Star Rail, there are characters like Aventurine whose damage scales with DEF, but there is no main DPS whose damage scales with DEF. Therefore, while DEF% might seem to be in the same category as HP% and ATK%, it cannot be ranked as top-tier. 

However, sometimes characters have no strict requirements for certain substats. For example, if the main stat on a support's Planar Sphere is DEF%, it can still be somewhat useful by increasing tankiness and helping the character avoid being killed by enemies.
