Many content creators have recently released preview evaluations about the new character - The Dahlia. This character is also one of the essential pieces for Break teams. Well, Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.8 will be updated on December 17th. Today, let's examine the stats of The Dahlia's signature Light Cone, "Never Forget Her Flame," and see if it is a necessity for her.

1. Light Cone Stat Comparison

The specific stats of The Dahlia's signature Light Cone at Level 80 are HP 1164, ATK 529, and DEF 463. The Dahlia deals Super Break damage, which scales based on Toughness damage and Break Effect, and is unrelated to attributes like ATK. Therefore, the impact of raw stats is relatively minor.
2. Light Cone Skill (at Superimposition Level 1)
2.1 Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 60%
The Dahlia herself can also deal Super Break DMG; the higher her Break Effect, the higher the Super Break DMG. Furthermore, a certain percentage of The Dahlia's Break Effect can be converted into an increase in Break Effect for her allies, thereby making her allies' Break and Super Break DMG even higher.
2.2 Increases the Break DMG dealt by the wearer and another teammate who started the fight (or the teammate with the highest Break Effect if no one started the fight) by 32%
Simply put, this increases the Break DMG of The Dahlia and the team's Break DPS by 32%. This "increased Break DMG" effect is particularly powerful because it belongs to a different damage bucket than effects that "increase the DMG taken by enemies" for Break damage. Moreover, Break damage does not scale with DMG Bonus or CRIT stats, so a straight 32% increase to Break DMG is a very rare multiplier, capable of significantly boosting the damage output of both The Dahlia and the Break DPS.
Let's do a comparison first: With The Dahlia at Eidolon 2 using her signature Light Cone, Firefly can deal 1.14 million damage in one attack.

If The Dahlia uses Cipher's signature Light Cone "Lies Picked Up By the Wind," Firefly deals 1.06 million damage in one attack.

2.3 When the wearer adds a Weakness to an enemy, recover 1 Skill Point. This effect can be triggered up to 1 time. Using the Ultimate resets the trigger count
For The Dahlia, this means she recovers 1 Skill Point when she uses her Ultimate to add a Weakness.
The Dahlia's signature Light Cone primarily has three effects: ① Increases the Break Effect of herself and her allies; ② Increases the Break DMG of herself and the Break DPS character; ③ Recovers 1 Skill Point each time she uses her Ultimate.
3. Lower-tier Light Cone Alternatives
For a lower-tier Light Cone alternative, having Cipher's signature Light Cone, "Lies Dance on the Breeze," is naturally excellent. Its high DEF reduction allows the team's Break DMG to remain very high, and it also makes The Dahlia faster, with the only drawback being the loss of one Skill Point recovery from the Ultimate. If you don't have Cipher's signature Light Cone, you'll need to consider how to equip Light Cones for both Fugue and The Dahlia, as they are both Nihility characters.

If Fugue has her signature Light Cone, then let Fugue equip her signature Light Cone, and The Dahlia can equip "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat". The [Ensnared] effect from "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat" can reduce the enemy's DEF by 16%, making it the light cone with the best supportive effect among 4-star options. If neither character has a good 5-star Light Cone, it is recommended that The Dahlia equips "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat". The Ensnared effect from Resolution only lasts for 1 turn, but The Dahlia has follow-up attacks, which will result in a relatively higher coverage rate. Fugue can equip the Nameless Glory light cone "Holiday Thermae Escapade" or the free event light cone "Before the Tutorial Mission Starts".

The "Holiday Thermae Escapade" Light Cone's effect of increasing the wearer's DMG is useless for both The Dahlia and Fugue. However, its other effect, which makes enemies take increased DMG for 2 turns (one turn longer than "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat"), is more suitable for Fugue, who attacks less frequently. Purchasing the Nameless Glory (Battle Pass) is not mandatory. Even at Superimposition 5, the 16% Vulnerability effect from "Holiday Thermae Escapade" isn't particularly high. Alternatively, Fugue can use "Before the Tutorial Mission Starts," which provides an Energy regeneration effect and is also a viable option.

For The Dahlia and Fugue, only one of them should equip "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat". You cannot have both use it simultaneously, because the [Ensnared] state from "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat" can only exist once and cannot stack.
4. Light Cone Pull Recommendation
For Break team players, it is recommended to pull for The Dahlia at E0 without her signature Light Cone (0+0) just to experience her core mechanic. Her most essential mechanic, which allows her to deal Super Break DMG even without breaking the enemy's Weakness, is fully functional at E0. The team's damage will just be lower. After all, Version 3.8 is already the final version of the 3.x series, and Version 4.0 is coming soon. The state of Break teams in the future is still unknown, so there's no need to invest too much Stellar Jade into Break teams right now.
5. Summary
The Dahlia's signature Light Cone provides a rare multiplier for increasing Break DMG, which offers a significant boost to Break teams. However, since Break teams have already passed their peak, it is not recommended to spend too much Stellar Jade; pulling for her at E0 without her signature Light Cone (0+0) is sufficient.
What do you think about The Dahlia's signature Light Cone, fellow Trailblazers? Will this be the final upgrade for Break teams, or will Version 4.0 bring a wave of enhancements for them?
