Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 PV: Kill Nanook, Revive the Trailblaze Aeon!

Today, Honkai: Star Rail released the Version 4.0 Improv Tour Trailer: "Binge It All! The Truth After the Battle of Irontomb!". Let's take a look together. To avoid spoilers, you can first watch the full PV on the official channels of Honkai: Star Rail, then return to read this analysis.

1. Amphoreus Story Recap

The first half recaps the Amphoreus storyline: the Trailblazer gathers the Galactic Alliance Army and joins the Chrysos Heirs to battle Irontomb.

Although Irontomb is defeated, everything remains within the grasp of the Destruction Aeon, Nanook.

The Trailblazer is unexpectedly crushed to death by Nanook, but fortunately, they can be revived by watching an ad.

2. Aeons "Love Triangle"

The overarching background of the story is a love triangle: the Destruction Aeon Nanook has feelings for the Elation Aeon Aha, but Aha is in love with the Trailblaze Aeon Akivili. Aha's line, "Why did you kill him yet again?" refers to Nanook having already killed Akivili once before and now having killed the Trailblazer.

How did Nanook kill Akivili back then? Nanook destroyed the Astral Express, which led to Akivili's death and also caused Nanook to lose his own legs. Nanook originally thought this would make Aha happy. However, Aha was actually in love with Akivili. Aha's request for Nanook to help destroy the Astral Express was merely an attempt to make Akivili give up the path of Trailblaze and turn his attention back to Aha.

Aha then spoke that classic line: "You've lost your legs, but I've lost my love...!" meaning that Akivili was the love of Aha's life.

The timeline returns to the present. Nanook has already killed the Trailblazer and invites Aha to leave together, to go to a place without the Trailblaze. However, Aha stabs Nanook instead, using Nanook's golden blood to resurrect Akivili.

What Aha resurrected was Akivili, but just as the advertisement finished playing, the one who truly got resurrected was the Trailblazer. This implies that the Trailblazer is Akivili.

3. New Character "Nihilux"

The segment featuring the new character's appearance is actually a comic drawn by the new character "Nihilux" — no wonder she's called the strictest mother of the Aeons. Nihilux remarks, "Official serials are such a bore compared to Aeon gossip."

But even in the real world, Aha is shown holding a computer and saying, "Akivili, I will find you~", hinting that the story is not entirely fictional.

By the way, Nihilux's Chinese voice actress is Zi Yin, who voiced Eula in Genshin Impact, Susie from the gadget store in Zenless Zone Zero, and Cerces, the Titan of Reason, in Honkai: Star Rail.

Nihilux's Japanese voice actress is Tomatsu Haruka, renowned for her role as Yuuki Asuna in Sword Art Online.

The new PV is very interesting. It not only recaps the Amphoreus storyline but also narrates the complex relationships of love and hate among Akivili, Nanook, and Aha, while also previewing the new character Nihilux. The most fascinating part is the middle segment—it incorporates comedy skits yet remains genuinely connected to the main Honkai: Star Rail storyline.

The romantic relationships among the Aeons are part of the comedic skit, but Aha's desire to find and resurrect Akivili is real, and this will undoubtedly be an important plot point in Planarcadia. So, what are your thoughts after watching this PV? Feel free to share your comments below! ~
